WinterABC2022 Stories of Africa: Africa my motherland

“If I have ever seen magic, it has been in Africa” -John Hemingway

You are beautiful as the African sunset, your people surely inherited the beauty from you. The beat of the drum always warms an African heart. If one starts a song, everyone will join in unison and your children will dance until the sun comes up.

Your children are proud of their totems and their identity. They have been teaching their children about their culture and heritage. Your African children converse in different languages and are proud of their beliefs.

Africa is the home of The Big Five (the elephant, buffalo, lion, rhinoceros and the leopard). The majestic Victoria falls, the Egyptian Pyramids and Mt Kilimanjaro are also found in Africa .

The Baobab tree is proud to be African and there are a lot of lessons that one can learn from the tree.

Africa, you are my motherland and the thought of you always makes me smile.

Lots of love

The Baobab

*What is the one thing that makes you proud to be an African?
