🌻How would you rate your high school years out of 10? Out of 10 I will give my high school years a 9. I really enjoyed high school given an option I don’t mind repeating those years
🌻What was the worst thing that happened to you when you were in high school? The worst thing that happened was what I went through form 3 first term. Being a new student wasn’t so good the kind of hostility some of the girls gave me made me question my decision to become a boarding school student.
🌻What was your favourite subject and why? Advanced level Shona. I know it’s rare for someone to like Shona considering our generation but my teacher was dedicated and I ended up enjoying the subject.
🌻Who was your role model? My role model was Ms Motsi. I know we didn’t see eye to eye, but she instantly got all the attention whenever she walked into a room. Ms Motsi earned respect from most of the students and this made me respect her.
🌻What are some of the lessons or skills that you acquired from high school? During my boarding school experience I learnt a lot of skills. When I was in Form 3 I didn’t know how to wash and iron my laundry but some of my peers took time to teach me and I’m really grateful.
🌻Did you ever feel like there was a time you were treated unfairly? The only time I felt that I was treated unfairly was the time when I was given manual punishments because I wasn’t aware that that’s the norm at a boarding school if you fail to get something done on time.
🌻What was your favourite place at school and why? My favourite place was the hostel especially after school. Bed time used to be the best because after a long day in class I would get some rest and relax my mind.
🌻If you had the opportunity to change anything from your high school experience what would that be? Although I had both good and bad experiences I would not change anything because I value the lessons learnt from high school. I learnt to be tolerate other people and acquired some skills that I’m still using 6 years after high school.
